LONDON DESIGN FESTIVAL

WHEN – 17 – 25 SEPTEMBER

This September, the London Design Festival – one of the highlights of the capital’s cultural calendar- is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Visitors can expect incredible installations, exhibitions and events, to celebrate some of the world’s best designers and their creations, and to showcase London as a powerhouse for the creative industries. Whilst the festival hub remains at the V&A, installations will be present across the city, including a life-sized media platform from Sony Design at Cromwell Place, which will play sensorial effects transforming ‘simple boundary surfaces into an infinite vista through shifting light, colour and sound’. This year’s festival commission will be a collaboration between architects Stanton Williams, engineers Webb Yates and natural stone supplier LSI Stone to produce ‘Henge’, a project in Greenwich Peninsula inspired by Neolithic stone structures.

To set you up for a day of exploring all the festival has to offer, enjoy a Japanese twist on breakfast in The Lounge at Nobu Hotel London Portman Square – why not try a salmon and scrambled egg donburi or yuzu crab Benedict.
